About the Event
Being a mom... is fucking hard sometimes. Excuse my language but it deserves to be said. We LOVE our kids & families so much. Also - we carry a lot.
IT IS TIME WE LEARN TO MOTHER OUR MOTHERS in authentic ways that assist with the ONGOING challenges & transitions mothers experience.
There is an entire world of shame, guilt, judgment & overwhelm rarely discussed but felt daily and feeds an awful amount of continued sisterhood wounds.
There is a growing disconnect of vulnerability and support within the community for mothers that has left many struggling between empowered & disempowered.
The expectation of mothers to be everything comes at a high cost. Such a high cost that it often collapses the mother, which in turn, collapses families all together.
We lose ourselves. We forget who we are under the hats we wear. We love our children and families and yet somehow constantly can feel that what we provide is never enough.
The truth is - Most mothers experience what feels like a massive abandonment of community & support when they become a mother. We have honestly failed mothers big time in the transition from maiden to motherhood.
- Most mothers feel isolated & alone in their struggles.
- Most mothers feel ashamed and limited in their capacity to live up to "The Good Mother".
- Most mothers are longing for closer friendships that honor family dynamics & children play time.
- Most mothers feel unseen in their struggles.
- Most mothers fear opening up about their struggles and being further abandoned in communities.
- Most mothers are so exhausted that even reaching out for support feels frustrating and hard.
- Most mothers want to help but are drowning in their own duties.
There is a loop that most mothers keep getting caught in that perpetuate the feelings of lack on all fronts. The amount of stories I hear from mothers who witnessed most of their friends drop off the face of the planet when they became mothers or had zero understanding for the very real changes & grief of this transition is painful. I went through it too. When I needed the most support, is when I got the least support. It taught me a lot.
We'd like to offer support for that. HONEST SUPPORT. We want to CELEBRATE the silent wins that never get noticed... and the big ones too.
A place to go deep, beyond the surface. A place to get raw & real & heal. A place that offers a solid container for connection, reflection & release as a commUNITY.
Come laugh, dance, shake and cry. All are welcome.
Hot drinks, a beautiful environment and great company await. You are loved, seen, supported and understood here.
