Now is the PERFECT Time...

Does it seem like there are TWO CAMPS right now?

CAMP #1: Let’s get back to “normal” ASAP. We are falling behind/missing out.

CAMP #2: This time has been a GIFT. We don’t want to go back to “normal”.

I love the idea of everything being a “yes” or a “no” but there is always the “maybe”

option to consider.

Who says we need to pick a side?

I propose we consider... CAMP #3: Let’s build our own adventure. Live in the present moment AND plan our future.

Let’s face it; certainty and control have always been an illusion.

CHANGE is constant.

What if we shifted our focus to appreciating what we have and opening our eyes to the opportunities that lie in front of us?

Am I asking a lot of you? Yes, I am.

I never said it would be easy but I guarantee you will experience more joy and suffer less.

MORE joy and LESS suffering? Sign me up!

Before we can jump into creating our new adventure, we need to DO one extremely

important thing.

If you don’t do it IMMEDIATELY, you won’t be able to move forward.

Now is the perfect time to LET GO.

What am I talking about? Let me explain.

Now is the perfect time to let go of:

  • What other people think of you (none of your business)

  • What other people are doing (stay in your own lane)

  • Envy and jealousy (just clues you aren’t going after what you really want)

  • Putting the needs of others ahead of your own (because of MOM GUILT)

I’m particularly concerned about the last item on the list. Women in general and specifically moms are guilty of putting the needs of others ahead of their own. We are called out as SELFISH and shamed if we do.

Not you, you’re smarter than the average cookie. You know that MOM Guilt is B.S. and it’s been holding you and your fellow moms back.

Now is the perfect time to take stock of your life BEFORE everything returns to “normal”.

Technically you should have more time right now but we all know that’s not your reality. You are just a different kind of busy.

Grab a notebook and create 20-30 minutes of alone time. Lock yourself in the bathroom, wake up early or hide-out in your car. Do whatever it takes, you need time alone.

When you are alone with your notebook, answer these 5 questions as honestly as you can.

Your life depends on it! You are not a victim.

1. What have you learned about yourself these past few months?

2. What’s actually important to you?

3. What’s possible when you dare to dream for yourself?

4. What’s ONE goal you can set for yourself this week?

5. What do you still need to let go of?

When I answered these questions for myself something big opened up for me. Once I was able to loosen the grip of “should” and “can’t” and stay curious, I was able to imagine my most beautiful life.

Warning: Answering important questions often creates more questions.

My most beautiful life involved living in the mountains. Many phone calls, sleepless nights and conversations with my family later, we are moving to the mountains this summer. I’ll save the details for another time but I never would have come to that conclusion unless I took the time to reflect and ask myself the questions I’ve shared with you.

Now it’s your turn.
